Radio station moving

Yay Radio had begun is move to its new location in the Winston Studios.  It is also better positioned for guests as well with the presenter located nearest the wall so guests will be on their left with more space, especially helpful if guests are playing acoustically.
The station is of course off air now until the equipment is all reinstalled in the next few days.

Looking really smart

The building works just about finished now.  Wall fabrics looking good and pine trims making the finish look amazing.  The lighting is in, and so are the new carpets.  Just the doors and windows to fit and the technicians can come in and fit the studio equipment.

New Viewing Window

The new viewing window had been cut out today so that the engineer in the production studio can see what's happening in the recording studio.
To create the opening the builders had to first cut out a slot for the lintel, which was then inserted and held with jacks.  The lintel is there to hold up the wall above the opening. After securing the lintel in, the main window could then be cut out below.

Radio and production studios

Work has shifted to the radio and production studios today.  The new partition wall structures have all been built with spaces for doors and windows left.   As work continues you need less imagination to realise how it is going to be.

Rockwool Arrives

The studio is transforming very fast now and the new ceiling and floor are well on the way.  Pallets loaded with Rockwool have arrived for the soundproofing of the studios and frames are being assembled for them to be put up in front of the walls.  The old radiators have been removed as they would have been in the way.
